It's true. I remember every house in my neighborhood having American flags hung up and proudly displayed.
Sadly, if an event of that magnitude happened again, I'm afraid the SJW would call that act oppressive.

It was also before social media and the way its been indoctrinated in our lives. That also has a large part in how different the world is today.
