My mom still owns a house in Tara. It's relatively a safe and still desirable neighborhood, however as a parent with young children, I would not live there or in Baton Rouge because of the up-tick in violent crime and less than desirable public education system. And because of Baton Rouge's Mayor President.

I've told her repeatedly to sell the house, because I can't see the EBR school system ever getting better and that neighborhood has already reached its peak pricing point in my opinion.

Tara is still a good neighborhood. It's just the school.

And actually Tara is actually one of the better inner city EBR schools.
