The Pastime has gotten only a couple of nods on this board for reasons I'm not sure. It's the one you've seen referenced under the Mississippi River bridge and it is in walking distance from the casinos downtown. It's been around over 70 years, is absolutely chock full of LSU memorabilia, and has the coldest beer and (imo) and best pizza in town. They do have a shuttle to the stadium (and I agree with the others -- don't walk there for safety reasons) but it doesn't start to roll until closer to game time than you want to be on campus. But once om campus, as others have noted, you wear your colors and you'll be invited to have a seat, get a drink, and have something to eat just about anywhere you turn.
