I don't think I've ever gotten any relief using any of them.

Tylenol cold and flu can make you feel better for a couple of hours

I will say i got this jacked up ibuprofen at the docs once when I was sick. I never felt better for the next 5 hours or so

alka seltzer cold plus is actually pretty decent

I haven't either. You can spend $$$ on that stuff and your cold will last for a week or so OR you can save your money and your cold will last for a week or so. In either case, you will be miserable.
That's just bullshite.

I love people that think "prescription" ibuprofen is anything special.
When really...it's the same as taking 4 regular ibuprofen tablets

Placebo effect is cool, isn't it?

they do nothing at all to cure the cold, but they do give me some symptom relief so I can get a little sleep.

Alka Seltzer Cold & Cough - not the gel caps or tablets, the old school plop-plop-fizz-fizz
Everything else is worthless and weak

Same. I knew a guy in college who took this every single day without fail. Claimed he hadn't been sick in years. I never saw him ill, but it's probably a mix of good luck

We get it. You're a nurse
You don't need to be a nurse to read a medication bottle.

Alka seltzer cold will greatly relieve symptoms in minutes, and it will last almost 4 hours.
Mucinex D (go to pharmacists and show your drivers license for the meth registry) is OTC and also works well. Don't get the regular Mucinex out on the shelves. You want the good shite behind the counter.
