Nearly every deep ball was underthrown, but that wasn't the point. Most offenses use crossing/ slants and we don't. Just curious.

That's false.

You're still not making any sense with your logic. Underthrowing is more of a timing issue. A fraction of a second can result in a yard or two short.

To answer your question, why do we need to throw short intermediate routes when we'll just run it for 5-7 yards a carry?

Jacoby Stevens caught a first down ball on a crossing route. It's like you people don't watch the games. Also slants are more of a M2M route and we've seen a lot of zone in the first 2 weeks.

completely wrong. We had receivers running those routes, especially crossing. Etling just wasn't targeting them. I definitely wanted to see us practice short to medium more, but I don't think it's a problem.

The routes were there he didn't go to them. He went deep in the 3rd with I think DJ coming wide open on a crossing route.

The TD pass to Davis and the deep ball to Chark were both right on the money. The deep ball to Chark was the most beautiful pass i had seen from an LSU qb in over 10 years.
