i didnt chance it honestly.

they didnt really smell after peeling and cleaning them under water

my hands still have a hint of shrimp smell

Royal reds always smell a little shrimpy. boil/steam them and peel, dipping in drawn butter. Sometimes I add Old Bay.

As far as a pregnant wife, she should avoid since they are deep water shrimp and probably high in mercury
