When I saw how many starters LSU suspended last night, and then witnessed the devastation their second team did to our boys, it occurred to me just how massive the difference is between our talent and theirs. I don't blame BYU at all. The moment the PAC10 expanded to 12 and excluded BYU we were doomed. The ability to attract NFL talent and speed disappeared for us. Conferences like the SEC have become feeder programs to the NFL. The BCS has become so exclusionary that teams outside the P5 have no prayer. That is what Tom Holme has to work with. We can cast stones at our coaches and our quarterback after what we witnessed last night, but we do them a disservice. They are not at fault. College football is broken.

Yes, the talent gap is wide and they were right to acknowledge it.

But this is a bit hyperbolic. Most of the suspensions were non-starters.

Yet Tom Herman, who got his stool pushed in by Maryland yesterday, beat OU and Louisville last year with non-P5 talent. Hell, he was the one to expose the UL OL/QB before Kentucky and LSU did it, too.

I.m not sure you can say college football is broken, but just like college baseball where 10 to 12 teams make it to Omaha, year after year--that is where we are with football. The playoffs in football does not have enough history but in 5 years or so the pattern will be clear. IMO it will be a fluke for Vandy, Ole Miss, Ms State, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky to win a national championship in football. Each conference is the same with over half of the teams virtually little chance of winning a NC.

I think that is all the guy was trying to say--a really big difference in talent from the elite 10 or 12 teams across country

Everything they are saying is true. I don't get why some of you don't agree. Our talent level is easily twice theirs. They were and are a very bad team. Surely none of you think they will have a winning season?
