Can Martell still shoot? If so that puts him well above Smith and probably above Budinger.

I don't know but he wasn't planning on playing past his last contract because he was worried about the potential for permanent damage. If he's actually working out you have to assume he's healthy and might find the playing time situation here appealing. 20-25 MPG for 3-4 months and then spot duty after that.
