let's say I've studied for an exam all week long and I pray daily to God that I pass/do well. If I end up passing, I'm going to thank God for watching over me and MY very own studying for helping me.
If a student that literally doesn't open their book and doesn't study at all, but prays to God that they will pass and end up failing. You wouldn't say they deserve to fail since God can only do so much and that they didn't help themselves (not studying)
Doesn't God reward good deeds and preparation by providing us with open doors and opportunities to succeed, if we work hard at it and pray?
What if you fail the test after studying and the other guy passes. Is it just God's will all over again?
My family members used to have gatherings every week to watch Joel Osteen on tv. I went once, and while he had a decent message, I couldn't over the fact that if it wasn't profitable he wouldn't be doing it. It's not about the message or God. It's about money which is more powerful than any gods.
