i think its almost a given to expect 10 years off the life of your boat and a prop ruined, 50/50 lower unit trashed if you do it.

that said, people need help and things are just things after all. its nice to think "someone" takes care of those who help but i think there is a lot less things done to help rescuers fix problems related to helping then there should be.

be nice if fema gave them a money grant big enough to cover all related expenses and fix damaged equipt

If they made that kind of offer the streets would be littered with idiots finishing off their only derelic boats and getting in the way just in the name of getting a check.

It's a shame, but shite like that never works.
