Etling being a 5th yr senior means nothing. It would only be his second year as a starter and having to learn a new system. Shouldn't be an issue since he's done this before since transferring in. I'm not so much concerned about those numbers in particular, just in the opportunities to get the ball downfield, which we all know he's not/wasn't in control of. He's a different style of player. Not a mobile guy and will never have as many rushing TDs as Hurts, who himself is learning under a new OC and I suspect will have his own problems. The benefit he has is he can tuck it and run when he can't find anyone downfield. Of course he'll have big numbers rushing because anyone who understands man to man or even zone coverage knows the QB is mostly unaccounted for. I know this does not answer your question but I don't think your question is one that can be realistically answered. On second thought I'm perfectly fine with this as long as they're W and not L.

This will be his 3rd year as a starter. He started his sophomore year at Purdue before being benched 5 games into the season for Austin Appleby

You can't "realistically" answer the question "Would you be satisfied if Etling threw for 2800 yards, 22 td's, 10 int's, and completed 62% of his passes this season? You can't type yes or no? Seems fairly easy

Way to hype up Hurt's stats against those teams.

The poster said Hurts declined "towards the end of the season." So I listed 2 games at the end of the season in which he did fantastic in directly refuting his claim. Try to keep up.

PS, this game was late in the season.

So when I pick 2 games late in the season that are directly in disagreement with what was claimed, it's "hyping up his stats" but when you pick a game that he didn't play well in it's somehow not?
