I get it. Major storm bearing down on Houston - absolutely no reason to lock in a backup site, right? None at all.

Just pray that everything will work out, and about half the time, it does!

Who the fk are you directing this to? ESPN? That's who you should be.

Well to be fair, with incentives, Joe Aleeva, who is the best in the business, only makes around 900k a year . Contingency plans are extra .

There are FIVE contingency sites that can host the game. Why do you want to "lock" one in before A) making sure that the game even has to be moved in the first place and B) making sure that the alternate location isn't similarly affected by the storm?

If the ADs don't understand this or can't negotiate with ESPN during times like this, the universities need to find ADs who can.

What the hell are you babbling about?

What do you mean by lock in? Again multiple sites have been contacted so clearly contingencies are being discussed. If it was too late to do anything I'm sure we'd know that by now. According to sources I've heard the Superdome needs to know by Tuesday at the latest in order to have the necessary staff in place. They can have the stadium turned around from Saints game on Thursday in 48 hours. I think it's safe to assume a similar time table for other similar sized venues. So no there was no reason to have a plan locked and announced as soon as a storm is projected to hit the city where the game is scheduled.
