I'm excited for an updated game. I played this on an emulator a few years ago and the game still holds up. I have no issue with them sprucing it up and giving it the 3D treatment and adding "cut scenes". Just keep the soundtrack.
They could update the game and make it look much better.
Once again I am not talking about the graphics. The art style looks silly to me.
