Mexico Travel Warning

Great, I guess there was one issued last night... I'm going to Playa Del Carmen over Labor Day weekend with my wife and a large group for a surprise 40th for one of my buddies.

I think we'll be just fine but wanted to get others opinions on the travel warning?

That said I think you are OK, but I wouldn't schedule any future trips.

Mexico has more apologists than New Orleans . People love making excuses for Mexico, that's a constant. And it's nice enough I guess. But it just seems like a losing proposition to me ( I have a family member that owns in Mexico) considering the ethos of the country, and all the optional places one can go. It's just unimaginative to me considering all the other great places out there.

Heading to Playa del Carmen next weekend for our honeymoon. Let me know what it's like if you've been recently. Don't think we really plan on venturing too far from the resort, but I'll hit up Jose at the pool bar for a piece to go out with if I need to. Chichen Itza is probably the furthest we'll go out. Want to go see those temples and cenote.
