If I made it sound like seals leading a charge with a bunch of rebels behind them I apologize. It's more leading from the rear and supporting them
But I disagree about it being a waste. It can turn a bunch of locals into a functioning force. They are trained by SOF, missions are planned and directed by SOF, and SOF support them while trying to stay out of the combat directly. Sometimes they can get involved
This is not the SEALS specialty but it is a role. It's SFs specialty
It can turn 16 guns into 100 while also not costing American lives.
Delta get the most involved. They are out there running and gunning with the locals regularly
