Tyler is fantastic. Lots of places inside and outside of the city to live. It almost reminds me of a smaller Birmingham if you can sort of imagine that.

Lots of great food/shopping options, lakes, rivers, hunting, fishing, cycling. Great place to raise a family.

As somebody who grew up there... no. No it is not fantastic. If you live there you were either born there and couldn't escape or were roped in b/c you work in the medical field.

also at great food/shopping options. Sure, if you like chains and a dying mall it great!
