I would look into an option other than GoFundMe, which appears to take 8% (5% for them, 3% for processing) from each donation. I've heard other people mention sites that don't take a percentage.

Thank you for all of the responses so far. They have been very encouraging. I did look at alternatives to GoFundMe, like YouCaring. I believe they take 2.9%.
