I've seen many posts similar to the following:

I'm making a note/keeping a list of all my friends who were vocal about x, yet are suspiciously silent about Cville. You know who you are, and (something about shame or proving they are good people).

In other words, for a while, they want to shut you up, then when you shut up because you may have a reasonable yet progressively impure opinion, they want you to speak up, but dammit, you better say what they want to hear.
