How good are you with the basic concepts of Excel? Formulas, ranges, etc? Pivot Tables? Do you have experience in other programming logic? The concept of Boolean operators and loops?

I haven't taken any certification courses for VBA, but the "advanced excel" courses I've taken did not even touch on it. It was fairly useless on the VBA side, although it wasn't specific to VBA. There may be some great VBA focused courses out there. My advice is to first start with a project.

I've self-taught myself Excel and VBA. The information is certainly out there for free, you just need a good project to work and study. Then another to refine what you've learned and pick up new ways to do it. It's certainly enjoyable and powerful, as I find a lot of people very surprised at what Excel is capable of doing.
