Blacks were fine post slavery. Overall many were self sufficient and took care of one another. The problem that came into the black community was influence and involvement from whites. Tulsa, the massacre in Florida, multiple lynchings, bombings and so on had adverse effects that set back progress that black communities were making. Then, you move forward to segregation. Because of the the past instances I mentioned above, alot of blacks figured they needed to be integrated to feel safer or more accepted. The aggressive acts towards blacks had successful made blacks self loathe themselves and had demeaned them in their own minds without whites really having to say a single word. Integration wasn't truly needed. All the black community needed was to be left the frick alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
