US troops tore down the Sadaam statue.(Just a drop in the bucket of the wasted several Trillions of dollars wasted in Iraq though).
US government also blew up Nazi symbols & banned public display of them along with other Denazification efforts. Just as former Soviet Republics have taken down THOUSANDS of statues to leaders/ Communist monuments. History isn't being erased ,but Honorific public monuments are .
