If you truly believe those are the reasons that Confederate monuments were placed in Southern states in the last 150 years, I have a bridge to sell you.
Nobody's talking about taking a picture down from Eisenhower's office - instead, let's remove symbols of racism and oppression that were intended as symbols of racism and oppression from public property.
