Do you guys not have Quick Lube at your Ford dealers in Louisiana? I pay $39 and get a oil change, filter, and tire rotation.

That's regular oil. Full synthetic is usually $80-90.

No way I'd change my own regular oil, but full synthetic saves you $40 or more per change. Plus you know what you are putting in, id bet a late percentage of the time at the quick line places you pay for synthetic and they put in reg.

I agree with the OP here and I don't doubt it at all. After an oil change it should be brown like beef broth but not not black like coffee.

No, I've actually got free lifetime oil changes on my F150 from Sterling.

I have always changed the oil in the vehicles I owned in the past until I bought a 5.0 F-150. it holds 8 quarts. Sure you can get a motorcraft filter and 5 quart jug for $30 on sale. But they get you when you buy the additional 3 quarts. It comes to about $55 when it is all said and done. Quick lane will do it including a tire rotation for $60.00 plus document it.
