As a white male, it's very rare that a situation works against me based on race or gender and even rarer that the system around those situations is pushing an inherent bias against me.

That doesn't mean life is all roses and nothing ever goes wrong and I'm better off than all minorities because all systems work against them all the time.... but in the grand scheme, as a white male, I'm generally bestowed some advantages in society.

if you are denied work or college entrance due only to your color. . .that doesn't count as oppression?

I think the word you mean is "earned."

There's nothing shameful in saying it was earned.
