Politically, it is just as divided. We have been historically divided since the 2004 election.
In everyday life, we are not even close to what I would call divided. You are buying the media narrative. It's just not true.
Every single person here has a personal life full of friends and acquaintances of all beliefs and looks that is not at all an obstacle to happiness and bountiful existence.
The average person gets along fine with the majority of the people seen and interacted with everyday. It's how this country functions.
We are a country of parties, bbqs, block parties, sporting events, birthdays, and even little things like morning coffee shop visits.
Reality is not a hopeless ash heap full of division and hate that the media portrays.
