No, it's just not true. Over decades the game does change and teams look for fresh younger faces with more innovative adaptive styles which appeases fan bases. Those things being true however, do not mean that coaches like Les Miles, Phil Fulmer or Mack Brown were ever close to below "average." It's just much harder to be a re-tread in college football at 63 years old...

That's complete and utter bullshite and just a lame excuse. Being a college football coach is nontraditional employment. Because of the enormous amount of money involved and the enormous expectations, successful coaches never quit at age 65. They either continue until they get fired or they retire only when physically they are unable to continue. It's the same way in the pros as well. These people are driven to succeed. Indeed, I don't see Nick Saban giving up the game and the accolades anytime in the near future even though he is the greatest of all time. He's driven. He's going to do it for as long as he can be successful doing it. Sort of like the Bear.
