BASS Sabine Tourney

quote:

“Due to the grey areas in the Louisiana Delta/Tidal waters that could create an uneven playing field, the 2018 Elite event in Orange will be restricted to Texas waters only,” said Weldon. Similar problems exist in the Atchafalaya Basin area of south-central Louisiana, a large portion of which is privately owned. B.A.S.S. has also decided not to schedule professional tournaments in that area until and unless the public access issues are resolved.

Maybe when our State starts seeing lost revenue they will make a change.

Well there is a lot of marsh around there that is privately owned. Sucks that all of LA is off limits but I understand the fuss of the land owners

This pisses me off, but it's not going to change anytime soon. Too many politicians getting their pockets lined from oil companies and rich landowners.

So sad.

Hopefully more people get behind the Louisiana sportsman coalition so we can come to a reasonable solution for both anglers and land owners...

Louisiana is leaving a lot of money on the table because of the issue, there needs to be a common ground found.

quote:

Last time the Classic was in Louisiana, in Shreveport and Bossier CIty, the competition attracted a record 137,700 visitors and had an estimated economic impact of $27 million, according to economists at LSU-Shreveport.
