How does Greenville even have an airport?
Pretty interesting, Greenville airport was once a major training base for the Army Air Corps during WWII. Then it became Greenville AFB. It was a town in and of itself. There is a museum in the terminal building with old photos and memorabilia. Thousands of pilots had trained there by the time it closed in the 1960's
In the 70's, Southern Air flew DC-9's from Greenville to New Orleans and Memphis. There's not much left of the airport today, but Boutique Air currently serves to DFW and Nashville.
