Rap music isn't the problem. I listened to a shite ton of rap, so did all my friends, and none of us have criminal records. We have jobs and we pay taxes.
Here's what you need to do to avoid poverty:
1. Stay in school
2. Delay having kids
3. Get a job
4. Listen to whatever music you want because the music isn't what defines your life if you're on track

The tipping point is when you don't follow the first 3, and you do follow the 4th and you turn the rap artists into your idols and role models.

5.) Stop blaming everyone else for your problems and take some accountability for your own situations

I've played countless hours of Grand Theft Auto but I've never killed any hookers (maybe 1) or ripped someone out of their car at a light

I don't think rap is The problem either, but rap definitely promotes these problems
