The only reason he beat Alabama is because they played them the week after they played LSU. Do y'all not remember how intense, and how emotionally and physically draining it was to be in that stadium that night? And that was just for the fans. Imagine how exhausted you had to be as a player. Bama beat the doors off them the next year and I have no doubt they would have had Bama played them just one week later

this is correct. It's very, very difficult to get emotionally "up" for a game the week after a huge emotional game. This applies to all teams, not just LSU.

I was actually at the Bama - A&M game where Manziel beat them. One of the most entertaining games I've ever seen.

But Bama was emotionally flat in the first quarter, and quickly got behind 20-0. Then they woke up and outplayed A&M but still lost. Bama was inside A&M's 10 yard line at the final gun.

So it's not just what teams are on a schedule, it's very important WHEN you play them, because of the emotional ebbs and flows of the season.
