The last few times I've smoked meat, I really enjoyed pairing with sours.
My favorite was Wicked Weed (RIP) Marina with ribs. It was peach/apricot, worked great with the smoky pork.

I have a Marina in the sour cabinet. That does sound like a great pairing. I try to pair a sour red, or a kriek with a steak.
