I started a thread saying Sony needs to stop their hissy fit about console cross play. They are literally stalling an entire generation of online play, and it's retarded. Not once did I trash Sony or their games, I said "frick sony for not getting with the times" that was the whole point of the thread.

They still might support it if they can get Microsoft to not require a Xbox account for Minecraft and other like games. We dont know. This is probably the discussion they are having, bc Sony hasn't decline it fully just yet

Then I gave kudos to Nintendo for getting with the times, and praised the switch, because I think they are headed in the right direction and I'm very happy so far with it. Typical closed company that protected their own ecosystem at all costs now playing along with direct competitors for a better gaming landscape. Kudos Nintendo.

You need to reread the OP

I'm a longtime sony fanboy and will continue to be. But they are chicken shite for not unifying console multiplayer, it's stunting the next generation of online play that would be awesome. The next generation of gamers (my kids generation) all grow up playing Minecraft. That's a fact. Sony is making a mistake IMO. If I told them the PS4 won't play the new Minecraft version and will stop getting updates, they will ditch the PS4 in a heartbeat.

I never wanted an Xbox one, but considering my kids playing habits this move will force me to get one. I'm not happy about that aspect and I'd rather get them a PS4. So this move will lose them a second PS4 sell from a hardcore Sony fan and that sucks.
