A dem has been mayor since 2005.

Party politics doesn't really play that big of a factor in local elections. Well to some degree it does, because their are people who vote party lines no matter what, but I would argue Kip Holden was BR's best mayor in some time.. He was a democrat.

So if SWB decided to go change her party today. And all of a sudden becomes a Republican, she automatically becomes a better mayor?
