Sounds like the dude got a classic case of home sickness. It happens all the time, he didn't give LSU and BR much of a chance. It happened to me long ago when I was at TTech. When I first arrived I wanted to go back home immediately, I hated it there, but as time moved on and I made friends it started to disappear, he should have given it some time.

Wonder what went through his mind when he arrived and it was 95 degrees with 90% humidity
