How jacked up was the Brown v Board decision on desegregation?

So Mr. brown filed a lawsuit not because their daughter wasn't getting a quality education where she was at, it was a matter of principle and that they should be able to send her to whatever school. Especially one just a few blocks from their home in Topeka.
The decision of the court agreed, but their reasoning is a bit different, (quote) 'segregation of white and colored children in public schools has a detrimental effect upon the colored the children', the courts conclusion was that 'segregation was defacto unequal, that simply that act of educating black children seperate of white children caused harm, serious harm', the court goes on, 'segregation with the sanction of law has a tendency to retard the educational and mental development of negro children.'
This was light years away from Brown's actual position....
Brown said that the black school was actually a great school, but that is was just a matter of principle.
The court said 'no that school can't be a good school, because segregation makes it inherintly inferior.' Court said ' your education and development has been RETARDED by your INFERIOR schooling'.....
How fricked up is this decision? How can the court make a case that black people are psychologically cripple inherently?
This decision was in 1954.... I've never really looked at this decision like that, but honesty how could it be any more racist?

Do you realize that this is why people hate affirmative action? It's stating that black people are so inherently stupid that they can't compete based on their own merit or intellect, therefore we must hold them to a lesser standard.

The Brown decision was, in every level, the most racist decision since Dred Scott.
Its basic holding was that black kids were harmed because they weren't able to be around white kids.
Talk to black people who were a product of segregated schools. They were usually the black professionals that went to HBCUs and the rising black middle class of the 50s-70s.

I was just starting school when the schools in La were desegregated. For the most part, the black teachers I had were damn good classroom managers.

This was a classic case of the government trying to rule against human nature
