Why does Government even have to be in health care?

Why not let the free market work? If they would just repel Obamacare and let insurance companies compete across state lines, it seems like prices would drop without Uncle Sam's interfering too much.
Free loaders that want insurance might have to get a gasp...job

It doesn't.
This is just another example of how hard it is to take something away from people once it becomes established.

Why not go pure free market? Get the government all the way out of it and get rid of the tax breaks for employers and employees who pay premiums, and let the marketplace really rule.
The insurers have shown they are good people who can be trusted to provide good coverage for a reasonable price without government telling them what to do.

You know it's bad when you and I agree on something

You ever heard of lifetime medical costs limit? Pre-existing conditions? Getting screwed financially for life because me or my child decided to have a permanent disability? Getting charged extra for daring to be pregnant?

If they can control your money and your health, they can control you.

Because Washington wants more of your money so that they can buy the votes of people with no money.

Until the hospitals turn away the poor and homeless, socialistic healthcare will be necessary.

Because the so called free market does not function in health and auto insurance. Minimum policy provisions and requirements of coverage must be legislated or they would not exist for most people, increasing the burden and risk to everyone.

If Uncle Sam would butt out, healthcare costs would stabilize at affordable levels...just like EVERYTHING else does when there's no government intervention.
But that influx of gubment money for medicare/medicaid only serves to incentivize the industry to take as much as possible.
If the government did the same for electricity, your power bill would be $1500/mo.

We are literally moving closer to a more globalist society. The recent elections and inactions of our politicians are proof of this.
They want all the major countries to become legally and ideologically parallel. The final step is a world government organization.
I am not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but this is the inevitable reality unless there is a nationalist pushback. Unfortunately, they are being outnumbered and influenced by social policies themselves.
Certain leaders like Trump are attempts to stop this, but the truth is that many Americans do not believe in the original principles the country was founded on or see them as beyond approach.

Perhaps you don't realize that government REQUIRED electric utilities to run lines to every house, and that is why everyone has electricity service.

if you could do that maybe it would work, but as it stands the health care industry does not resemble a free market in any way, shape, or form regardless of government involvement. And i'm not sure it can. When you need a hip replacement, you NEED a hip replacement. It's not like buying a TV. The leverage swings wildly in favor of the person selling the hip replacement and that can create a lot of problems if all the sellers in an area price collude.

Because they are power-hungry pieces of shite.

that doesn't take it outside of the concepts of the free market
other than insurance, saving for negative externalities is an option
the problem is, as with many arguments against the free market, that people would rather not plan ahead, knowing they can rely on government action if their decision turns out poorly. think banks that need bailouts
there is almost nothing that government provides as a safety net that you can't buy on the private market. you just have to plan ahead

Insurance is for free loaders. It is literally there because you don't want to pay full costs.
If they got rid of insurance all together prices of health care would go down because people couldn't afford lots of things at current costs.
Getting rid of insurance and other welfare would, on the whole, breed better humans.
