The issue here, and it's a common one, is that counties are slow in terms of purging voters who have moved or have died from their rolls. I don't see the big scandal here. Do they need to tighten up and do a better job purging rolls? Sure. But I don't see massive numbers of people voting twice.

The biggest issue with voter fraud, IMO, is regarding voter ID at the polls...including letting non-citizens vote...as well as voter intimidation. That's where I would like to see the bulk of the attention focused.

Why? Are you suggesting that county officials are that lazy or incompetent?

Don't the people with fake ID's or No ID have to have to vote for a registered voter, like a 130 year old that they know isn't going to be voting, anyway?

If a 130 year-old is still on the rolls, then they likely haven't done a thorough purge of the rolls for 30 years, or so.

That's a pretty important problem.

One key to identifying if you've got a voter fraud problem is to use statistical analysis to identify where to look.

When there are thousands of people who aren't REALLY on the rolls, it makes it very challenging to spot when a voter rate appears to be an anomalously high number.

Basically, shitty voter rolls end up being basically useless tools for actually managing eligible voters and, they become excellent tools for potential fraudsters.
