Why Va Tech over Pitt or was Va Tech game scheduled before Pitt left for the ACC and West Virgina left for the Big XII.
Truthfully I remember some good Pitt/ West Virginia games. 2007 and 2011 for instance but only West Virgina/ Va Tech I remember was 99 with Micheal Vick.
I believe West Virgina almost won that game if my memory is correct

The VT rivalry is more intense. The fan bases are similar, their fans actually care and VT actually has a football program.
Pitt in those three areas is an embarrassment.
