Why? Life is not fair and a lot of us are dealt a tough hand. I give a large part of my income to charities to help people and if everyone did as I did we would not be having these conversations about ACA. It would not be needed.
With that being said, it is not right to force someone to give to charity. Paying taxes for infrastructure, defense, SS and even MediCare is not wrong. You benefit from those and makes society better. Forcing people into covering medical expenses for people who cannot afford is wrong. It can be a choice, but it should not be a requirement.
