Ala Spygate...Sports Illustrated wrote an article back then claiming the Oilers stole the Chargers signals...and knew all the plays before the snap. And had practiced all the plays ala Patriots before playing the Rams.
I mean, that's the major sports magazine at the time in America - so that's a pretty big deal.
It helps explain why Fouts had his worst game of the season by FAR.

In spite of Sports Illustrated's claim, the Chargers actually led the game for the most part until the Oilers' go ahead in the 3rd and Fouts exceeded 300 yards passing with over 50% completion pct but 5 INTs will ALWAYS kill a pass-oriented team just ask the 1986 Miami Hurricanes
