Fouts is usually very candid about that game in interviews and takes the blame for the loss. He said once that the biggest difference in that game was Ken Anderson could throw spirals that day and he couldn't.

Ken Anderson, one of THE MOST underrated quarterbacks in the history of football. Can imagine he and Bert Jones would slaughter fantasy football in the 1970s.

What did Fouts throw 4 picks?

Ala Spygate...Sports Illustrated wrote an article back then claiming the Oilers stole the Chargers signals...and knew all the plays before the snap. And had practiced all the plays ala Patriots before playing the Rams.

I mean, that's the major sports magazine at the time in America - so that's a pretty big deal.

It helps explain why Fouts had his worst game of the season by FAR.
