There are a variety of Southern dialects. You have your dying (and almost dead) Tidewater/Charleston non-rhotic, Scarlett O'Hara one. The hard rhotic, poor grammatical Appalachian one. A Cumberland Plateau (southern TN, northern AL and MS) one. Black Belt dialect that changes between race, usually, that runs through the MS Delta from LA to mid GA. A Deep Southern one that runs just above the coast from MS up to SC. A distinct Gulf one, too, with the addition of NO as a weird port city accent.

My favorite as well. If it is a dying one, it's a shame...but I do hear it from the natives of South Carolina, Georgia mostly and a little bit from parts of Alabama.
