Amen brother, most if not all NFL owners could likely foresee it being a massive PR nightmare due to all that public advocacy and controversy and the likely alienation it might generate from portions of their fanbases. Doesn't help the franchise marketing too much.

The 32 owners didn't get together and agree not to sign him.

No team thinks he's worth the trouble at his asking price. He could have stayed on SF if he wanted.

The real comparison should be to what teams already have. If the starter is better than Kaep, the team is looking for a backup, and a backup shouldn't be seen or heard.
