So they are saying Westworld like, I assume no humping Wookies since it is Disney.

Place will make a fortune and be booked years in advance, cannot wait.

The hotel concept is like a mashup of Westworld and Star Wars — except in real life. While all the details haven’t been released yet, it’s clear that this isn’t going to be just another place to rest after a long day in the parks. The basic premise is simple: Each guest becomes a character in the Star Wars universe and the starship (a.k.a. the hotel) will include Disney cast members who will be in costume and in character. Since it’s meant to resemble a spaceship, the hotel windows will only show the expansiveness of outer space, according to Disney’s blog.

They ought to make it themed after jabba the hutts palace to match the people that go to disney

Looks awesome, but I don't think $10k for 6 days at Disney is worth it.

$500 per person per day. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, it won't be for Star Wars.

They need to hurry up and build it before I get to old

One day in Westworld was technically $40,000, so that would be a steal
I would think this would have to cost well North of the Grand Flordian, which would be a good thing. You do not want it tainted by the poors.

You're going to have to sell your Speeder.

Those beds look uncomfortable as hell....especially after standing in line for 16 hours at different rides.

Still a dealbreaker, no matter which board.

Most of the family wouldn't want to.
But I'm definitely going if I like what I see after it opens

I will probably do it at least once. $500 a day is around what they list their nicer hotels at most of the time.

Yes, we will do it. Likely would only be for a couple of days/split stay over a longer trip. Likely do something like 4-5 days at another resort then finish up the trip with the star wars experience.

I am curious how deep the 100% immersion goes. It seems like we are supposed to feel we are on a star ship, how far will they take it? Would cost a fortune, but imagine if they could make it shake and move. Nothing drastic, but subtle enough. Something you would feel when jumping into hyperspace. Simulate being attacked as well. Doors that blast open as being boarded. Oh this could be so amazing, but it would not be for the masses at that point.

Saw on one of the podcasts speculation that it will open up to the new Star Wars Land making it even that much more immersive. I'm not a big Star Wars fan but I'd definitely want to check it out if that's true.

But you could at least have sex with the robots in west world

The RFID technology in the magic band is supposed to play a big part here. Your interactions on the m falcon will play apart how you are encountered by cast members in the cantina (for example)

Why make it luxury? Seems like a large majority of your Star Wars fans would not be wealthy? Would they go with a luxury hotel first and then a mid grade later? I mean a mid grade hotel would crush also, there's currently no hotels at Disney that are great for 10+ year old boys and men. Just seems odd to me for Disney to leave that demographic out?

I think people are becoming less materialistic and more willing to spend on experiences rather than "stuff". Same reason why escape rooms, mud runs, etc. are doing well.

Yeah but take a millennial that works as a manager at a video game store and lives at home or with roommates making $14 an hour, they can't afford that. Seems like your video game millennial would be a huge target audience here.
I guess they are going after the affluent dads here that grew up with the original Star Wars?

You think millennials are the people spending money at Disney? The people disney wants are the young, well-to-do families who will come back 5 times before they're 40 and buy a bunch of merch for their kids each time while eating at table services every day. Building "cheap stuff" isn't going to attract those families.
ETA: and the hotel you describe for 10 year olds exists... All Star Sports and All star Movies.
