What's this all about? I don't remember any of my teacher ever coming visit my folks in grade school. Open house was for the teachers to meet the folks but at the school.

What's this all about?
I'm one of the only white teachers at my school, but I see that as a positive. The kids need to be around professionals who look like them so they can see themselves as being professional someday. But having a white teacher isn't a bad thing either.
