HuffPost is hitting the road with 23-city bus tour through Middle America https://politi.co/2ulVaF6

It's like Lion Country Safari, except with redneckshttps://twitter.com/mlcalderone/status/885459341545025538 …

After viewing the ceremonial rain dance, make sure to visit the gift shop for genuine authentic-style Middle American souvenirs

Can you imagine the awkward conversations they are going to have as they try to relate to flyover country residents? https://www.politico.com/story/2017/07/13/huffington-post-middle-america-240476 …

Though many of the cities the group is visiting voted for Hillary Clinton in last year’s election, all but two of the states went to Trump. But Polgreen says they’re not visiting “Trump country,” pointing to a reason for each city or state on the tour like an interesting community college system in Fort Wayne or Detroit’s large Arab-American population. Hillary Frey, HuffPost’s director of editorial strategy who came up with the bus tour idea, also pointed out that logistically it didn’t make sense to go to the corners of the country where the distance from one city to the next would be too far.

Could they be any more out of touch or condescending?

Good job Huffpo, alienate potential readers.

Gee I wonder what story they plan to tell from this visit to the "red" states.
Are they also planning to hit up the local planned Parenthood clinics as well for more red state feedback about Trump?

NPR did this same thing during the election. The utter disbelief of the NPR person upon hearing there were farmers, plant workers, service industry employees, etc.... that were excited about Trump caring about them was hillarious

I look forward to the report on how amazing it was to find these antiquated people actually growing their own vegetables and going to church and such. What a wild and wacky bunch they are.

yes, make fun of the places in America where you can go out at night and leave your doors unlocked.

Let's insult half of America!
Wait why aren't you people voting for us?!

frick these motherfrickers.
Let me get this straight-they're driving into flyover country, but purposely avoiding the vast majority of it to venture into enclaves where they will feel "safe." To do what? Gather up more condescending attitudes from snowflakes?
While they're in Oxford, a town I love which has taken a more leftward turn recently (as has Ole Miss), they ought to take a trip over to the Delta and visit some towns where their ilk have wreaked havoc, then on down to Jackson for a tour of West Jackson. Kick their asses off of the bus and leave them there. It will be an eye-opening experience, if they make it back alive.
Seriously. frick'em.
And what the frick is that in that picture? Is that a shim trying to be a him but still looking partly like a her?

But only the parts that voted for Hillary.

It's always amusing how people who live in "Middle America" think they represent the average American.
The average American lives in a multicultural city and hasn't been to the corn fields of flyover country.

it actually is pretty strange and mysterious. THey think trump is awesome.
I did a road trip through the midwest this year. I love midwesterners, they are so friendly. I was offered two tours of fargo by complete strangers. One was by a guy, who I later found out is named "white dan" and the other was a lovely art student.
I didn't do either fwiw. But frick, you would never get that in denver.

Middle America is so racist .

Middle America is like a museum or zoo exhibit for these people.
