A couple of posters including myself have argued that an older and larger actor should have been the Anakin Skywalker starting point.

If the story began with an already physically imposing slave Skywalker - suffering from physical and emotional abuse - that would have set the table for the brilliant student too angry and too old to train properly. Obi Wan trying to save him but failing would have been an easy continuation of the story hinted at in the first three movies.

Who should have been the actor? Someone similar in size to the original Vader (playing an 17 or 18 year old Vader) would have made for a really interesting and appropriately scary character when he turned completely to the Emperor's cause. There are a limited number of hollywood actors of that size but I think someone like Joe Manganiello would have worked if his hair was very short.
