Shorty.
I think they are opposing a bad fellow, but not quite Hitler. And I have many lib pals. They think he is bad, but never heard him described as THAT bad. In all seriousness.

Dude. If the things you mentioned policy wise are what's causing leftists to burn shite, protest nationwide, sprout up BAMN groups etc etc etc, then frankly, I think the right is to portray leftists as complete anti-Freedom loons.
Those things are political differences of opinion that have existed for at least 100 years.
They need to grow the frick up.

I like eastern Europe. Make it western Europe and I am on board.
It would be interesting to see them in a NATO like club with him so we could see what happens when they try to mooch their defense off him. He might not take them.
I like Eastern Europe. I just think whatever shithole former soviet state Eurocat lives in should be handed over.

I think it is more complicated than you are making it out to be.
But just to reaffirm, when you say Hitler I think of the Final Solution and stuff like that.
I don't believe any of my liberal friends actually believe DJT wants to kill six million in some kind of ovens. Heck, the Nazis hated Gays and Trump supports gay rights for the most part. His daughter and grandkids are Jews.
No-one is thinking Hitler and Trump are the same (not talking about mentally ill people of course).

This election season has been like no other in history. The country is still faced with hard issues: Economic, political, cultural, monetary policy via globalization of the United States economy, unchecked immigration and a failing health system that is changing the very fabric and underpinnings of our society. Political labels increasingly do not matter. As a result of all these changes the political mood of the country has slowly shifted to the left and has come with unintended consequences. There continues wide spread disaffection in both main political parties. Donald Trump ran as an insurgent. The Republican electorate overwhelming rejected what were perceived as establishment candidates. Even the Democrats in what we all now know was a stacked deck against any Democrat insurgent candidate saw the rise of Bernie Sanders. Democrats were running uphill against the damaged reality inflicted by the policies Hillary Clinton pledged to continue. The globalist Obama-Clinton economic policies she articulated had failed and voters regardless of political persuasion knew this. Voters vote with their wallets and Democratic adherence to identity politics did not address this.
This was a change election. Many luminaries have succinctly noted that over 70% of the country felt the country was on the wrong track. Seventy percent!
This election cycle we had a significant proportion of the electorate choose not to express their views. Whether because of outright apathy or because they did not believe their views mattered. This silent majority decided once more to express their collective dissatisfaction. This was what all the pollsters missed.
The Republican party now stands at a crossroad. The establishment Republicans did not want change, at least not the kind they always talk about. They continue to pursue status quo policies regardless of their rhetoric.
Unfortunately the Republican party does not seem to understand it is going to be remade and the process has already started. Establishment Republicans are fighting more against the insurgent President Trump than against Democrats.
This is because their views are more aligned with Democrats.
As the country has shifted more to the left the new reality that has emerged is right-wing conservatives (Tea Party types)are slowing being marginalized.
Centrist democrats have been pushed out of their party and moved into the Republican party.
Voters want change. This dynamic has not changed.
We are not far removed from the silent majority sticking their collective middle finger at the ruling class and corporate media that dominates American politics. White centrist democrats are going to continue to vote Trump. They will be silent no longer.

That's a cop out. Trump is way right of McCain and Romney. The people on this board calling him anything but right wing make me laugh.
He has put in place the most right wing AG in forever. Maximum sentences for everybody and private jails to house all the additional prisoners.
He has the most wombat, radical right wing, sec of education ever. Everyone knows that our education system sucks. Everyone knows that the teachers unions are socialists and that the majority of kids in public schools are not getting what we pay for.
So what's Trump's solution. Vouchers for more private schools. That's bullshite. Everyone bitches about the minorities on welfare, but they refuse to do anything about giving minorities decent education or trade school training to get them out of the hole and off of welfare.
So the solution is to spend more money on private schools???
Bannon in the white house siting on Trump's shoulder bending his ear every day. What is right of Bannon?
Gorsuch. Trump claimed him be a main stream repubican. It's early, so one can't determine if he is right of C. Thomas, the most conservative Justice in history, or not. But as of now, I think he's got a good chance of ending up right of Thomas.
Building a wall. Is that anything but extreme right wing. You think Romney would take more than a second to decide not to build a wall. Way too expensive. And the cost to monitor a 1,500 mile wall will be astronomical. And not guaranteed it will work.
There are other ways (some Trump has implemented) that would bring (and keep) down the illegal population that are less expensive and likely more effective overall.
EPA - Most right wing appointee in forever. Made his living suing the EPA for oil companies while he was AG of Oklahoma. OK, everyone knows the EPA was out of control. But does putting a dolt like Pruitt in there going to constructively solve the problem??
HHS. Tom Price. Right wing.
Agriculture. Former governor of Alabama. Enough said.
Commerce. Wilbert Ross. Way right. Made his living busting up companies after he bought them out of bankruptcy.
Labor. Acosta. Right wing all the way. Corporate employer defense lawyer.
Energy. Perry. Way right and a dolt.
Trump has the most conservative cabinet in history. He has the most right wing senior adviser in history. He wants to enact the largest tax cut in history.
As I said, what has he done that would even be close to putting him left of Romney???
(and don't spend too much time on gay marriages etc., because he hasn't done much of anything one way or the other on that).
