#3 otw for us too. We are pretty set on a suburban with captains second row. I had a brand new one for a rental one week and that ride was nice.
Out of the three (newborn, almost 2, 3.5 years), who goes in the back? I've been thinking about this.

Suburban gonna be hard to access the rear seats when the two captains chairs have car seats strapped to them. Go drive a van before spending that cash.

I've put the oldest in the back (3) but he doesn't have clear view of the headrest monitors.

The one who needs the least amount of assistance. Which would usually be the oldest, assuming he can get in and out of the seatbelt by himself.
Newborn needs to be in the middle if you're planning on using an infant carrier and snapping it onto a base, as it would be very difficult to put that into a backseat. I'm guessing the middle kid is probably still in a 5-point harness, so he may need more help with the buckle.
Or the one least likely to get carsick.
