You people need to chill with the everyone hates LSU. Here's the cold hard truth, LSU doesn't lose games beccause of the refs being biased . They lose games because they got outplayed and out coached.

You are right. But sometimes refs make mistakes. They made a mistake here, as has happened in a few other games.
In this case, Auburn had the following plays:
1st and 10 from the 13-gain of 4
2nd and 6 from the 9-gain of 2
3rd and 4 from the 7-gain of 3
4th and 1 from the 4-sack, loss of 9
5th---field goal

And as I recall, the Rant did notice at the time...at least a few posters.

Their 1st down play was actually a 2nd down play, which they got the 1st down on.

Yes refs do make mistakes but some on here act as if the refs are out to sabatoge LSU, the conspiracies really take off against Bama. Alabama has just been better at football the last 6 years and that's all there is to it. Superior coaching and getting dominated on the LOS will get you beat every time .

Not correct.
Auburn had 1st and 10 from the 20--gained 7 to the 13 (ESPN graphic had this as gaining a first down, but chains are at the 20 and the 10)
2nd and 3 from the 13--gained 4 for a First Down (ESPN graphic had this as resulting in 2nd and 6, but you can see the chains are no longer on the sideline because it's now goal to go)
1st and G from the 9--gained 2
2nd and G from the 7--gained 3
3rd and G from 4--lost 9
4th and G from the 13--Field Goal

Where ESPN got confused was on a 2nd and 7 from the 35 when Auburn gained right at 7 yards to the 28 and it was close whether it was a first down. ESPN thought it was a first down, so on the run to the 20 on the next play their graphic changed to 2nd and 2 (or 3?), and on the run to the 13 on the play after that it changed to 1st and 10 from the 13, which is the sequence you have listed.

What actually happened was the refs marked Auburn just short of the first down on that 2nd and 7 play from the 35 (it was actually just a shade inside the 35) that gained to the 28, so the next play (actually 3rd and inches but ESPN was calling it 1st and 10) went to the 20 and gained a first down, making it 1st and 10 from the 20. From there, the sequence I outlined above is what happened.
